Man Arrested For Sneaking Into Woman Only Park In UAE

uae-cross-dresser-story-topBy Denis Foynes

Police in Sharjah, UAE arrested an Indian man for dressing as a women and sneaking into a woman only park. He was exposed when women noticed his moustache and reported him to police. His mug shot was released by police and has appeared in much of the local press. They believe he needs to be punished for violating the "principles of public decency and societal customs and authentic Arab Islamic traditions."

An official at Sharjah Police stated: “The suspect was caught wearing women’s clothes. The park was exclusively for women on that day. He was walking around the park in the abaya enjoying his time there.”

He will be charged with cross dressing, an illegal act in Sharjah. Additionally, there is a law in the area against unmarried men and woman being in “public places alone or in suspicious times and circumstances.”

The area of Sharjah is only 10 miles from Dubai but is much more conservative. It enforces a strict dress code and woman only beaches, parks and clubs are common.
